In my capacity as President of Parque Arauco S.A. (the “Company”), in accordance with the provisions of article 92 and second paragraph of article 102 of the Securities Market Law and General Standard N230 of the Commission for the Financial Market, and duly authorized for this purpose, with deep regret I communicate to you as an Essential Fact the following:
Today has been the sudden death of our beloved Executive Vice President of the Society, Mr. Juan Antonio Álvarez Avendaño, who will be remembered for his recognized leadership, his constant concern for people, his prudence in decision-making, and an articulated strategic vision, great attributes that allowed him to successfully lead the destiny of the Society during the last 10 years.
