METHANEX ISSUES A STATEMENT REGARDING ITS EGYPT OPERATIONS
Methanex Corporation issued the following statement today regarding the status of its operations in Egypt.
Bruce Aitken, President and CEO of Methanex stated, “Following recent unrest that has affected various industries
in Damietta, Egypt, we have made the decision to shut down the methanol plant. We do not believe that
EMethanex is the focus of the unrest. Our immediate priority remains the safety and security of our employees and
contractors. We are confident that we are positioned to restart the plant in a timely manner once order has been
restored to the area.”
