Dear Sir or Madam:
In accordance with the provisions of Articles 9 and 10, second paragraph, of Law 18,045, on the Securities Market and the provisions of General Standard No. 30, of the Commission for the Financial Market, and in exercise of the powers conferred on me, I inform you as an Essential Fact that Enel Generación Chile S.A. (“Enel Generación”), has reached a commercial agreement with the company Shell Global Energy Limited, Singapore Branch, which concerns certain contractual modifications between the parties and in the contracts signed by third parties at their request, including, among others, the partial disposition of certain volumes of LNG, which are projected as surplus to the fulfillment of the commitments already acquired by Enel Generación.
As of the date of this communication, some of the corporate authorizations of those involved are pending, which are expected to be obtained within the month of December.
The operation is expected to have a positive impact on Enel Generación Chile’s pre-tax profit of approximately USD 500 million.
