Dear Sir or Madam:
In accordance with the provisions of articles 9 and 10, second paragraph, of Law 18,045, on the Securities Market and the provisions of General Standard No. 30, of the Commission for the Financial Market, and in use of the powers conferred on me, I inform you as an Essential Fact that, On May 3, 2022, the National Energy Commission, having taken into account the technical studies and system operation projections, ordered Enel Generación Chile S.A. (“Enel Generación”), to finalize the withdrawal, disconnection and cessation of operations of the Bocamina II generating unit, as of September 30, 2022, in accordance with the provisions of article 72°-18 of the General Law of Electric Services. This date could be reevaluated in response to the availability of energy resources presented by the National Electric System.
Regarding the extension of the retirement of the Bocamina II plant from the end of May to the end of September 2022, it is not possible to determine at this date the financial effect of the longer term of operation, which will depend, among others, on the future price of the marginal cost, the contribution of renewable energy to the system, the price of the contracts in force, the demand for energy and power, the maintenance and dispatch by the National Electrical Coordinator of other units of the system, the exchange rate and the price of fuels.
