Dear Sir or Madam:
By virtue of the provisions of article 9 and article 10 second paragraph of the Law of
Stock Market, I communicate to you as essential information that in session of the
today and in compliance with the policy informed to the Shareholders’ Meeting of April 28,
The Board of Directors of Empresas CMPC S.A. (“the Company”) agreed to distribute a dividend
provisional No. 279 of US$ 0.0761 (zero point zero seven six one United States dollar

This dividend may be paid in Chilean pesos or in United States dollars.
