Dear Sir or Madam:
The undersigned in his capacity as President of the corporation
opened CGE Gas Natural S.A. (hereinafter “CGE Gas Natural” or the “Company”), both with registered office at
Alderman N*54, Las Condes, and in accordance with the resolution of the Board of Directors of the Society at its meeting
today, communicates to you the following essential information regarding the Company and its
business, by virtue of the provisions of Articles 9 and 10 paragraph 2 of Law No. 18,045 on the Market of
Values and General Rule No. 30 of this Superintendence:
That with this date, CGE Gas Natural has taken cognizance of the Essential Fact disclosed on the day
today, by the subsidiary Metrogas informing of the judgment of first instance issued by the Judge
Federal Court of First Instance in the Argentine Republic, in the judicial cases followed by
Transportadora de Gas del Norte S.A. (hereinafter “TGN”), which originated in 2009,
when Argentina stopped supplying gas to Chile due to decisions beyond the control of Metrogas S.A.,
disclosed in note 34 of the Company’s financial statements (Note 34.2.2 File N*7026-2011
and Note 34.2.3. File N*7311-2015).
The judgment, not final and subject to appeal, condemns Metrogas to pay TGN, depending on the
defendant, to the payment of invoices and loss of profits, plus costs and interest arising from a contract of
gas transport that was affected by the interruption of supply from Argentina. The subsidiary has
indicated that it is evaluating in detail the content of the judgment and its effects
to determine the potential impacts of this, of which the market will be informed in the coming
days. Without prejudice to which, it shall appeal the ruling to the National Court of Appeals in Civil Matters and
Comercial Federal de la República Argentina, since the judgment is not final.
