Dear Sir or Madam:
The undersigned, on behalf of the corporation called Celulosa Árauco and
Constitution (the “Company”), both domiciled for these purposes at Avenida el Golf 150,
14th floor, commune of Las Condes, Metropolitan region, company registered in the Registry of
Values with N” 42, RUT N* 93.548.000-1, and being duly authorized, communicates to you.
the following essential information regarding the Company and its business, pursuant to the
provided for in Article 9? and subsection 2″ of article 10″, both of Law number 18,045, and in the
General Rule No. 30 of that Commission, which complements the information of
interest previously published on the Company’s website as well as the fact
essential published on February 8.
With regard to the fires that have occurred during this year in the regions of Maule,
Ñuble, Araucanía, Biobío and Los Ríos (the “Fires”), the information is updated previously
delivered to the market, in the sense that in the area in which the Fires have developed,
Arauco has approximately 47,000 hectares of productive forest plantations
potentially affected.
Considering the information currently available, the wood that should be able to be
recovered (based on past experience) and applicable insurance coverage,

Preliminarily it is estimated that the impact on the Company’s financial statements will result
of the Fires would be at this date of approximately USD 50 million.
